During Design Process class, we had a class activity which was called collaboration map. Because of our project for this course which we need to create a map, our lecturer usually will asked us to do some class activities related to map. For example, like this class activity, collaboration map. We had to use a map, and put some notes or design on your won map. I write about where I live, my memories of travelling with friends and family. I had also drew some pictures on it.
After we had design our own map, we put our map together. We tried to find some similarities or something that could related to each other. As you can see, my group would like to link each others by using the food, places, memories and so on.
Each of us may have different background or came from different countries, but we met in college. Different culture or background could make a people had different thinking or memories. For this class activity, I didn't think I had done a good job. There still have many things that I could improve, or I should think about. Maybe we should talk about our culture when discussing with our group member? So that we may can link each other with same culture.
However, this class activity had let me learn a lot and I could know what should I think about while doing my project/assignment. Explore and research should be the important parts for my assignment. I may will have many new ideas through exploring or researching.
Of course the way of linking/connecting different maps was also a new thing that I had learn in this class activity. I could see that all of our classmates had used strings to link/connect different maps. The question that keep confusing me after having this class activity was " What else can I use to link the maps or connect the maps?" As a new graphic design student, I may have many question when I started to do a new class activity or project. In this moment, the BIG QUESTION for me, was how to connect the maps. Maybe we can cut the maps and stick them together? But how do I stick them together?
Yah... There were a lot of questions for me to think about, maybe I can get the answer while doing the project/assignment. It was good to go through this class activity. NICE EXPERIENCE!
