Component Mapping with Sensory Perception

I had created two maps which are about the journey I went back home from college. One was tangible/physical map; one was intangible/abstract map.

Tangible/Physical map

What was I focused on my map were the subjects I saw on the way I went back home. I drove back home, so I can't focus on so detail subject.

As you can see, the outline of my map actually was a car and the exhaust gas from car.

Soooo.... From the starting point, I drew a tree. It was placed in my college, at ground floor of Block C, in front of the door. I had drew this plant few times in my previous assignment. This is the first plant that I saw when I was climbing down from the stair, so I drew it down on my sketchbook. Then, I started walking to the car-park. On the way I walking to the car-park, I saw a cat was sleeping. I could always see this car around SS15 (the location of my college), although in the morning, I could also saw it sleeping under a car. Therefore, I decided to drew this cat down, let it became a part of my may just like it had become a part of SS15. Hahahah

Then, I reached the car-park, and I took out the ticket and my car key. This two things were very important to me, if I lost two of them I couldn't go back home. On the way I drove my car, there were a lot of road holes on the road. Malaysia's road, you know. I really hate the road which had so may holes, as I had to drive very slow so that I could avoid my car to cross over the holes.

Finally, I reached my house area. Wuhooooo!

First subject that I saw was the guard house. It's a really beautiful guard house, but my drawing skills was not that good. After I passed the guard house, I could see a board which asked us to drive slowly in our house area. Sometimes, there were some people will jog, or walk in the house area. It was really important to drive slowly in our taman/house area, if you drove too fast, you may can't stop on the time. Then I saw a bird stand on the middle of the road, when I get closer to it, it flied away. And, there was a beautiful tree nearby my house. There were some flowers on the tree, and they was white color. It was soooooooo nice! I also saw a bicycle in my neighbours house. I didn't know how to ride bicycle, but really want to learn it.

And now, I reach my home! What I saw when I got down from my car was the wall. I drew it down as I really like to touch it when I was standing there and waiting for someone like my sister.

Intangible/Abstract Map

This was the second map that I drew. It was about my feeling when I went back home.

First, I saw two people were talking when they went out from college, and they are wearing bags. Therefore, I draw two bags to represent them and the bag were opened just like they were talking. There was a building which was placed in front of our college.I heard the sound of renovation from the building the I walked to the car-park. The sound was like you were nailing something.

Then, I reached car-park and would like to start driving. When I start my car, I heard the engine sound. Because the weather of Malaysia was very hot, when I sat inside the car without starting the air-con, it was soooooooo HOT. I feel like I was the water inside the kettle, and it was boiling.

I heard a song when I was driving. It was a Chinese song, it's soft and I was feel relax when I listened to it. The feeling was like you touch the cotton, the cotton was soft and you were feel comfortable to touch it. There were two road tolls on the way I went back home. There were traffic jam all the time, and you need to line up to give the fees. The hole of the needle was like the counter of the toll and the line just like the care are lining up. The place of each counter was small, but there were so many car there.

Then, when I reach my house, I heard the renovation sound form my neighbour's house. The sound was "DUUDUUDUUDUUDUDUUUUUUUUUUUUU". I remember a song which is from a Korean girl group, BlackPink, the name of the sone was "Ddududdudu". The lyrics of the sone was "hit you with that ddududdudu", but what I heard now was "DUDUDDUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU".

When I went it to my house, I step on the floor, it was cold. The feeling was like you fell hot in the summer and you go swimming pool. When you jump into the swimming pool, you feel cold. That was what I feel form my foot. I feel tired when I reached home, but I still need to go to my bedroom and take shower. As you can see, the door was calling me! However, my hand had sweet so I couldn't open the easily. The feeling was like you are touch a plastic, the plastic was wet.

Above are all about my map. So, I think I am very proud that I have use different materials when I am doing my map2. Because I have no see the others using different materials during the sharing time. All of them are using the same materials, like color pencil. But there is a classmate who called Florence, she use a different type of paper to represent her map. That is a good ideas to create a map. I should use different type of paper to try to create a map or create the other thing as well. And instead of using a white paper, maybe I can use the paper that already have design? Or I can just draw on tissue paper? Maybe I can collect something on my journey and put it in my map? There are may ways that I can explore in the future. So... ya... I have to improve a lot, and be more hardworking. Research more.
