Different ways of drawing !?

There are many approaches in drawing and sketching. After trying to do our own marks, our lecturer asked us to bring a fruit or vegetable to college. And she wanted us to use it as a subject that we gonna sketched/drew.
The subject that I chose was a green pepper. The green pepper was chopped in half.
First, I would like to draw it realistically. Yah, I knew I didn't have a good drawing skill to draw a subject realistically, but I had tried my best. I was not a person who usually will eat green pepper. Therefore, this was my first time to observe the green pepper so detail. I tried to drew the shadow of the green pepper, so that it could look more realistic. Then, I drew the green pepper by using dots. This was not my first time to draw a subject by using dots. I had tried to use dots in sketching in my previous sketching but not for college assignment/ project. Instead of using dots, our lecturer had also asked us to use circle. I had never use circle to drew a subject, maybe I should next time. HAHAH Using dots to draw a subject need more times, because you had to draw it very detail.
Using continuous line to draw the green pepper was a part of this class activity. I had tried a few times in using a line to draw the green pepper. It was quite hard to draw the green pepper by using a line, especially I had to draw it very nice. I had also tried to use the basic shapes to draw it. Basic shapes were include the triangle, rectangle, square, circle and so on. Before I started to draw, I needed to imagine the green pepper in basic shapes, like rectangle or circle. Then only I could draw it out. It was a new approach for me to draw a subject in basic shapes. It needed good observation and imagination. I tried few ways to draw it by using basic shapes.

After drawing the green pepper in basic shapes, our lecturer asked us to create a pattern. There were many ways that you could use to create a pattern. For example, you could just repeat the subject with simple drawing, then the pattern could be done. I decided to use the basic shape and green color to represent the green pepper. I had also repeat drawing it to create a pattern. The drawing which placed at left hand side (green color) was the pattern that I created.
Our lecture had give us an opportunity to draw the subject by using any approach that you like. However, we had to use the different color to draw. The color should be the contrast color. For green color, the contrast color was red. But there was red pepper in real live, so I decided to use blue color. I tried to draw it with continuous line. Because I would like to try one more time. As you could see, it was nicer than what I had drawn before(The drawing which placed at right hand side, blue color). I tried to draw the shadow with the line. I also tried to draw the structure nicely. I think I had done a good job of this drawing, at least the shadow and structure was clear and obviously.
Then I started to draw the green pepper with my non dominant hand, left hand. In fats, I knew how to write and draw with my left hand. This because I was injured when I was young. My right hand couldn't move during that time, so I had to done everything with my left hand. But my dominant hand still was the right hand. Yah.. as you can see the drawing which place at the bottom, right corner with green color, was done by using my left hand. Erm...I think I could draw better with my left hand. Should I start training my left hand? HAHAHA See, I can control the strength when I used the color pencil. Nice, right? I think it was nice. HAHAH
Yah, it was a pretty good experience to explore different approaches in drawing and sketching. I like this class activity as it helped me to know that I could draw with my left hand. GOOD! I would like to try it in my assignment/ project. There still were many approaches that I should explore in the future. Because of the time, we couldn't try the others approaches in class, but I would try them in home as well.
