This week we learned about contextualising bread. First, we were asked to watch a video to learn about "Understanding Research as Inquiry".
Research is a way for us to get some information or understanding a topic. Other than research, asking question can do the same thing as well. Asking question or doing research as many as you can help you to get more possibilities or ideas. Asking question is easy than answer a question. Focus on problems and questions that are unresolved, often resulting in new questions and new concepts. After having few ideas, we can filtering the choices in order to narrow down the topic/ideas.
There are two type of research which are quantitative and qualitative.
a. Quantitative - Collection of number and statistics
b. Qualitative - Experiences, ideas, belief and values
There was a class activity. We were separated in group of 3. Each group will get a mahjong paper, and we were asked to write a question that related to bread on it. Then, we exchange the mahjong paper and continue writing other questions the paper. When we get back our group's paper, we could see that the topic was expended. Then, our lecturer asked us to link the questions which were related. We were asked to circle the interesting question as well. I think this was a way to narrow down the topic.
