Today is tutorial day, so we have no lecturer class. We have to book a slot to have tutorial for our first project.
Before going tutorial, I continue research about how packaging design will affect customer behaviour. Based on what I have research, the most important design which will affect customers behaviour are colour, typo, unique shape of the packaging. These elements will attract the customers' attention.
Then, I start doing mind map for this topic "how packaging design affect customers behaviour". I try to narrow down the topic on sustainable packaging as well as secure packaging. However, I could not find so much of information about secure packaging. I also find out that I don't know how to relate sustainable packaging with the theme of this project (how designs are used to turn us into a buying machine). So, I change the direction again. I try to find some information about "how packaging colour affect customer behaviour". I try to find some product/brand. For example, Innisfree. Innisfree is a brand which people consider it as a natural skincare brand. The packaging of this brand is green colour. Green is the colour of environment, so many people can know their product is using natural ingredients by looking at their packaging design. Therefore, we can know that packaging colour can affect the customers feeling. However, I still can't relate this topic to my project's theme.
I try to look back on the research I have done, and ask myself "how packaging design attract me buying the product?". I list down the reason (how and why) the packaging design attract people buying. Then, I search some brands to support my reason. For example, Etude House and Innisfree. Both of these brands are Korean skincare brands. Sometimes, they will sell their product with different and unique packaging design, but the contents is similar with their previous products.
Etude House - Lucky Together
Tom and Jerry packaging design, but the contents are similar with previous products.

Innisfree - No Sebum Mineral Powder Emoji Limited Edition
Different emoji packaging design, but the powder actually is same with the original one.

I try to think about the short head line for this project.
1. It is different yet similar
2. Make it different
3. Improve to be unique
These three headline is to represent the company try to sell the product with different packaging but similar content. For example, improve to be unique. This means ask the company to improve the product content, so their product can be unique, especially when the packaging design is special and different as usual.

Feedback
- research 👍🏻
- improve and develop for the short headline as these short headline can't really bring the message that I would like to try to my audience
- can start to design the short headline
