Week 4 Progress

1000 words

This week, I already finished my 1000 words project. I use drak cool blue as my final background colour, because I think the words/text can be seen clearer on it. The contrast between the background color and text is bigger. I use a handwriting style type font for the title. This is because I feel that handwriting type font is more suitable for my drawing style and the article design style will look more consistent by using it. Here is the final outcome for my 1000 words project.

Not only that, I try to finish the R&P file for this project.

This week, I have proceeded with the survey, and I get some responses. I have summarised the survey after getting the responses.

Based on the survey, it shows that people usually will have 15 and above of rubber bands in their house. They usually get these rubber bands when they buy something, such as food delivery, food take away, and so on. Most of the people used the rubber bands to play games before, like using it as a jumping rope, shooting game and so on. People will also use rubber bands to solve some daily problems such as using it to open the stubborn bottle, using it as a paint catcher and so on. However, most of the people did not use rubber bands to make handcrafts before, and they did not see any artwork or design which is done by rubber bands.

The Professional

This week, I have done the cover letter writing and checked the content with my lecturer.

Not only that, I have come out with some sketches for the logo design. I came out with an idea which is using animals to represent me. As you can see, there is a rabbit to replace the character. In Chinese Culture, different animals are represented each year, and my birth year is rabbit. Therefore I try to draw the rabbit to represent myself. Not only that, I have also tried to draw the glasses by using the word “e”.

After the consultation, my lecturer told me that I can try to draw the type font myself if I would like to include my name inthe logo. I can also start trying to explore it with different colours and design elements. And I plan to draw my logo in digital drawing by next week, if not then my progress will become very slow.
